Hi, my name is Ben Pfeffer, I live in North Central Indiana. I want to purchase a 49-53 Hudson. Running, driving condition. Cash in hand. Coupe, 4 door doesn't matter. Always wanted one!
Glad I finally completed the gauntlet of joining process! Whew.
Let me know if someone can tell me which chapter I am supposed to join as well. Thank You!

Greetings and welcome, Ben! You are now a full member of this Open Forum and may post messages under any forum category. (Sorry about the "gauntlet". You would not believe the hundreds of "people" who joined our forum in the past, only to post spam links! The "gauntlet" screens them out almost entirely, but that's of little comfort to you, I know.)
If you're not in the Hudson-Essex-Terraplane Club you may wish to join. The main webpage (if you don't happen to see the H-E-T name at the very top of this page) is at http://www.hetclub.org/ . The printed magazine is worth the price of admission, alone!
By the way, when you get to the H-E-T homepage you will discover a Club drop-down menu item. Click this for "Chapters", and then a series of links will open, one of which allows you to see the contact person for the chapter nearest you. There are two very active chapters in Indiana, and lots to do on a local level, if you opt to join the chapter as well as the national club. There is a map at http://www.hetclub.org/chapters/hetchaptermap.jpg that defines the borders between the two chapters.
In fact, there's a local Hudson meet coming up on April 25 in Shelbyville (Southern Indiana Chapter) and another on May 15-17 in Fort Wayne (Northern Indiana / Ohio Chapter). Find more details at the Club calendar at http://www.hetclub.org/index.php?option=com_wrapper&view=wrapper&Itemid=508 . You'll see many Hudson people and many Hudsons, at either one!

Thank You! Great information for me. I have sent the info and paid for National. now to choose a chapter. Wished I could attend either of the events, but cannot. Will look for future events! Now...on the the chase for finding my first Hudson to own!

Welcome, Dave! You might want to start your own forum discussion rather than tagging onto Ben's, because people may not notice your reply to his discussion. Do tell us more about your car, and feel free to ask any questions, there are a lot of knowledgeable people here.
Also, if you haven't joined the H-E-T Club yet, you might want to consider doing so.
And, if you look at the "EVENTS" calendar you may find a Hudson meet going on near you this spring or summer; a great place to get out, meet people, possibly see other cars like yours, and find out where to find parts and technical help locally.

Welcome all. I was new to Hudsons 5 years ago and could not have completed my project without the help of the wonderful folks in this club and on this forum. We'll be there for you. Once you join the club you'll also get a roster so you can contact any one of us. Good luck, and you made the right choice. Not the easy choice- these cars are old, needy, and require parts that require searching and contacts. I would suggest you try club members first, and those in the WTN, for parts and assistance; ebay and craigslist can be useful backups, but most of your needs can be met without them.

Good grief! another "Dave".... There goes the neighborhood ! If you attend an Orange Blossom chapter event, Don't say "Dave" very loudly. you will gather a crowd. Must be 5 or 6 of us. Welcome ...
