Leaking water pump 51 Super Six

A buddy has a 51 SS with a 262 which is his daily driver, and the water pump started to leak from the weep hole. He got a rebuilt replacement from one of the Hudson Club vendors and it also leaked immediately. He has gotten 2 more replacements in as many weeks, and they all leak. I am thinking there is another issue......any ideas? Blocked passages? I find it hard to believe he got 3 bummer water pumps in a row. Everything is stock on the motor and he is using a 7psi cap.
The car has about 40k original miles.

    The only way it can leak form the bleed hole is if the seal is no good.  Sounds like against all odds, he has received three crook pumps.

     A Hudson buddy of mine had a very similar situation, 3 water pumps in a row leaking from the weep hole, with a 7lb cap.  He finally figured out that his over flow hose to the coolant recovery tank was crimped completely.  He fixed that and no more problems!

    When the weather isn't warm enough to require pressure in the system, I leave my cap on loose.
