New member from England -

@Rog2

Hi from England folks,

I finally got registered here, been a bit of a struggle, but thanks to Jon Battle and the webmaster I'm finally here.

I recently bought a 1928 Essex Hudson Super six 5 seater phaeton, right hand drive, frame number 927269.

The car has been restored and painted burgundy and white, which, whilst not original coloure suit the car very well.

There are a few adjustments and jobs to do, but I'm very  pleased with the car. I look forward to meeting other members, either here or in person (I live in southern Hampshire).

  • Glad you made it!  Hope we make all your work worthwhile!
  • Hi again Jon,

    I'm sure the effort has deen worthwhile. I've already downloaded the brake adjustment instructions. On my car you have to push the pedal really hard to get even a mediocre braking effect. I'm sure the shoes have been set up incorrectly. If anyone has any advice, I'd be glad of it!

  • That looks like an Australian bodied car.  You can email me direct for  the  brake adjustments, but sometimes it is not the adjustment so much as the incorrect linings.  NZgeoffclark@xtra.co.nz   Leave the NZ off the front of the address, that's to fool the automatic spammers

  • Thanks Geoff, email on the way.
  • Rog,
    Geoff's brake adjustment method is the one one that ever worked on my 28 E Coupe. Just follow the steps, they do give a good result.  I'll be over your way Aug & Sept (being Granddad) if you've still not got them right.
  • I've sent Rog a spare copy of the WTN as well so hopefully we'll persuade him to join :)
  • Thanks for your encouraging comments Essex28. Co-incidentally I'm due to become a Granded for the first time on October 9th. You're welcome to visit.

    Looking forward to the magazine Paul, I don't think I'll need much persuasion!

  • Let us know when you're over here Dave and what part(s) of the UK you'll be in. We might be able to arrange a social meet somewhere!
  • Good idea Paul.
