how much does a complete 308 motor and manual trans weigh?? need to know for shipping quote

I would guess about 700# for a HydraMatic, a little less for a standard.0

J. C. Whitney advertised a complete Twin H replacement engine weight at 600 lbs. Don't know weight of manual trans. Does the trans have overdrive? Then weight of clutch. 7 qt engine oil, generator and starter0

Many moons ago there were posts that can be found using Google search. One or more put the engine weight at 700# +. ADD for the standard trans stuff another 200 and round 900- 1000 # would be close.0
