I dont think they are available at this time. I took a NOS piece to a welder and he reproduced one for me. I ordered some exhaust elbows from JC whitney for him to use. Had about $160 (parts/labor)into it. Change the outlet to 21/4 instead of 2 inch

What kind of "elbows" did you use? I've got 3 NOS single outlet flanges and was considering a modification of one into a dual. If you could e-mail me a picture of how you have your outlets angled/spaced I would appreciate it. I've thought about TIG welding a couple of schedule 40 black pipe outlets to a modified flange with silicon bronze filler. Any other ideas or suggestions?
I'm assuming you meant a 2 1/4" ID outlet?

Well,
I took two flanges off over dinner and gave the whole mechanism a good looking at - and it dawned on me that Russ had welded two outlet pipes to the steel flange bolted to the single cast outlet, which was enlarged to 2 1/4".
The more I looked at what I wanted to do, it won't work so well with the intake heater flapper and it continue to be functional. I've got a flange from a '55 2 barrel exhaust and it is already 2.125" in diameter.
Russ, if you can come up with a set of headers and sell them to me- I won't even fool with this flangery! LOL

Yes. I took two exhaust flanges and merged them together. A guy out of Tennessee has reproduced the cast alloy that split it into 2 outlets (7X). From the original an exhaust piece was used shaped as a "Y" and had a 2 inch outlet

Mark, if you want headers, Uncommon Engineering sells them. You might also try Clifford Performance to see if they have any headers left in stock.0

If you just want to have dual exhaust you can easily split the exhaust manifold by welding the rear port closed at the heat riser and cutting a hole in the bottom of of the rear of the horizontal manifold as close to the center as possible. Then weld in a new pipe for the rear cylinders and you've got a split manifold for duals.0

Paul appears to be correct. My 1954 parts book lists both an elbow and a manifold as dual exhaust parts. So what is the difference between the standard manifold and the 7X manifold? Anybody have a picture or drawing of one? I was thinking I'd like to have one of those repros but I was under the impression that it was all I would need for a 7X manifold. Maybe splitting the exhaust would be as good or better?0

Thanks Paul for enlightening me on the fact that the 7x is an entirely different manifold, I wasn't aware of that and would really like to see the differences. I like the looks of Danny's flange even though it isn't a true 7x.
My goal with this car is to have a "Real Rod", not an untouchable, unapproachable Street Rod that you see so much of today. This is going to be my daily driven car and I want it to be mechanicly along the approach a Hudson Super Wasp coupe may have looked in the hands of a hot rodder of the era. I want to use as many Hudson pieces as are possible on this car. I know from my own stint in the real world of backwoods hot rodding that you go with what works and that is usually within the realm of interchangability.
I would like to have a set of headers, Steve of Uncommon Engineering is about a year behind on bending headers due to his work on the internals of the Hudson - and I want him to keep on doing just what he's doing. In my opinion, Steve's work and fresh approach on making usable power out of that engine is nothing short of fantastic. One of the finest Hudson enthusiasts I've had the pleasure of speaking with. The dealings with Clifford 6=8 on parts for other inline 6 projects that my Dad and his tractor pulling counterparts have had to endure - takes the taste out of my mouth for dealing with them. It ain't the same without the Man - and ya'll know who I'm talking about.
I am going to take a look at the manifold again in earnest and may attempt a reworked split. Paul may weigh in here but I believe there is a slight difference in the pre '55 exhaust manifolds and the Hash manifolds that I just noticed today. I'm going to lay them side by side and have a look at them tomorrow. I suppose in the spirit of what I am wanting to do with this car, a home-modified exhaust would be right in line with the intent. I've been involved in a flathead mopar manifold split that works good, it was meant to be "old school" rodding as well
I want you all to know, I appreciate every comment made and its made me think and rethink on this whole topic, with better ideas coming from each turn.

OK lest see just what I know about the differences well the top of the lower flange is different from one to the other 7X TO STANDARD 48 YO 54 AS FOR THE 55/56 TYPE THE MANAFOLD HAS THE BALLANCE TUBE BUILT IN TO THE MANAFOLD AND IT HAS A DIFFERENT LOWER FLANGE AGAIN!!Dannys flange will not fit the 55/56 manafold the bolt pattern is way different on my car I ground the heat riser so that when it opens it cuts the flow of gases in 1/2 1,2,3 to one pipe and 4,5,6 to the other you could remove the heat riser and wend in a plate so it's that way all the time if you like
also it doesn't have to be a twin H manafold to work a single carb set up will work as a matter of fact you can make a single exhause manafold work on a Twin H if you drill the manafold for the other carb heat tube the Twin H intake will bolt up and work just fine0
