Looking for the chrome that on the cowl between the door and the hood.
 For a 1940 pickup 6 cylinder not an 8 their is a difference.

     That truck is a 1941 not a 1940 yes that where the piece is.
    And for the record some one is going to correct me its stainless steel
    not chorme

    The way you can tell a 40 from a 41 is.
    1.  The stainless steel on the hood has four pieces on the hood.
    2. The grill has one extra set of bars on the 41
    3. The chrome noise pieces is different on them.
    4. The hub caps are different 41 thru 47 had the same hub caps .
    5. The guy in the photo has that look on his face that says its a 41 not a 40 lol

    Slight oops on the small caps,  1941-1942 are the same.  1946-49  are the same.  

    Good Luck finding that 1940 trim,

    1941 and 1942 up to car # 37067  used part # 162449.  Later 1942 used Part # 165183.
    1946-1949 used part # 165612.
