electric wiper conversion
Who out there has done a electric wiper conversion on a '46-'47? How is this operation performed ? I heard talk of using VW electric wipers....so what's the real deal about doing this ?

One of my friends put 6 volt electric wipers in a '41 Cadillac. He used an assembly sold by JC Whitney as applicable to Chevrolets from the 41-53 era. I remember looking at it and thinking it could be readily adapted to my '47 Hudson by using that motor with the original linkage as was done with the Cadillac. I didn't have them side by side but the physical dimensions of the motors were very close. It is one of those things that I keep intending to do but never get around to because Rain-X works so well.0

Thanks for the tip Dave. I'm sure you're aware that the physical shape of the wiper motor is actually important on the '46-'47 cars because of where it is mounted under the dash in an indentation on the heater core box.0
