Anyone know this car?

1939 Hudson 112

It's listed as a 1938 but is indeed a 1939. The ad says it was purchased in Australia so is RH Drive.

Listed at $29,900

That looks like the baby from down under, had some funny alterations around the rear deck area, and had wind up widows fitted if I remember correctly .Was for sale here for a very long time. Some one overseas must have bought it.
  • Coupe made ragtop... At one time last year was for sale.
  • It's obviously not "factory correct" because the windshield has not been chopped (as Hudson would have done).  However, possibly the Australian body company made their ragtops with the full-height windshield...I dunno...
  • If you click on the link and look at the pictures you can that the top itself seems to fit where it touches and the rear end does indeed seem strange.

The interior shot seems to show something a bit out of the ordinary as well ...

Have to say I like it but I'd have to do something with the top and $29,900 is way too much money for it in my opinion
  • This photo taken back in the late 1970's
  • Another shot. Click on photo to enlarge.
  • Apparently, they can't count - I only see six (6) spark plugs...  LOL!
  • Yes,it is a six cylinder, you don't always believe what you read.lo.

I'm thinking the car originally started life as a 4 door sedan. The doors are still sedan length doors, would have been a bit of a squeeze getting into the back seat.
