Our presence at the theater
It was stated a while back that a few of us were gonna go to the theater for opening weekend of "CARS". While a Hudson in the movie is great, numerous Hudsons in the parking lot would be fantastic.
I'm curious, does anybody have anything special planned? I'm probably going to make some eyes for my Hornet and park it as close as I can get to the front. The kids will "oooh" and "aaahh" but Daddy (and Mommy) might just take an interest in the real thing. Market our cause everybody!

Here in the Atlanta area we're planning to contact one of the major theatres holding the opening of "Cars" and see if we can arrange for a prominent Hudson display out front. It appears several other chapters around the east are planning similar activities.0

It would be cool to have a bunch of Hudsons at a drive in movie theatre to see "Cars" if there are any drive-ins near you.0

I hope it's a drive-in theater that we're going to for the Regional Meet. Can you post more details?0 -
I am hard pressed to think of any drive-in theaters left open here in So Cal. All the coward gangbangers, their wanna-be's and their terrorist associates have killed what was left in my area. Let's take em back America! Niels0

Niels,
There's a website http://www.drive-ins.com/ that has a database of drive- ins in CA and other states. Not sure how current or accurate it is but its a good start. I think a drive-in would be a perfect place for a meet.
here's a list of ones in CA. They can't all be full of gangbangers

None of these are "Local" to me but I'll check a couple out. The one in Torrance was closed ten or so years ago. They had two gang related murders and a rape in it's short existence. San Pedro drive-in also closed because of security issues plus the real estate became too valuable. For those interested in what a lovely city this is, there are 150,000 known gang members in Los Angeles county alone, 45% of those are illegal immigrants. I'm an eight year police reserve veteran and this statistic is directly from law enforcement. Good news is these punks love stepdowns... "Hey, what is that, a chopped Merc?" Niels0

Looks like Neils is venting a little. We are from the same area and he is right on. How about those protests on the news? What a disgrace. Royer I will check with my buddy on the movie details. He is very active in the Inland Empire Chapter but I don't think he comes on the forum and if he does, it is not much.0

They built 2 new drive-ins last year back to back in Broadalbin, NY The one in Fort Plain has operated continuously since I was there with my one and only blind date. I went to sleep during the first half, but she got me awake duriing the second half, lol Never saw her before or since.
I've been thinking about contacting Fonda Speedway and offering to run the Hornet for a pace car some nite.0 -
