Firewall question, 53 Hudson

I am trying to install the heater on my 53.... The fire wall was damaged prior to me having the car. My question is where was the heater control unit installed in the dash? I have no visible location? If anyone has a picture of the location I sure it would help.

in the chrome bezel on the bottom of dash left of the steering column. photo below

Someone else will have to photograph the firewall end control valve location. I do not have that photo.

Richard its the other end with the control value that I am referring to. The heater core goes through the fire wall at one location and the control value mounts where? Nice pic!
