You say corrosion? A little etching doesn't matter, if the basic metal is still sound, then you can just adjust the clearance and carry on. There are no substitutes available.0

Ok, I see. There was water inside the engine and there is kind of small holes or something at the bearing surface. But if those "holes" could be polished away how much the clearance can be at the most?0

You don't even need to polish the holes away. Just remove shims until the bearing is tight, and put .002 back in.0

After more intensive cleaning looks like the cylinders and the crankshaft has got some damage from the water aswell...0
