hello, any suggestions for a shop that does a good job on redoing skinned wheelcovers on a '35 terraplane? thank you. sincerely, tom

    Try dave.patten@wise.net.nz - he advertises in the national vintage car club magazine that he does top quality replica skins pressed not spun up to 10 1/2 in diameter.



    With the current low exchange rate NZ/US at .61 the cost may well be reasonable.

    I know a man who gets a good hubcap, repairs any minor scratches and takes a mould of it. He then throws away the skin on any damaged hubcaps, puts a fibreglass skin on the hubcap base and then gets it chromed. For health reasons he is not able to do any more. I wish I could retire and have some fun doing this sort of work myself. Its very time consuming but would be very rewarding.

    Master Plating in San Diego did some for me several years ago. Expensive, but well done.
