Need help identifying 1940 parts

This will be one of many questions. Bought a 40 8cyl touring sedan basket case.Boxes of parts. There are 4 of these channels(3 are in center of photo).They were tagged but no description written on tags, Any ideas? Putting a nailhead in it so there will be a bunch of parts that I wont be using posted in classified section
