1949-1954 Hudson WANTED

I'm afraid the prices of good Step-Down Hudsons have been ascending skyward in the past few years, and you might eventually have to revise your 'bottom line'. Assuming you just want a good solid 'shell' on which to do a complete restoration (you won't get much more than that for two grand), be SURE to inspect the condition of the perimeter frame rails from the rear wheels on back. Better to get a Hudson with ragged interior, bad paint and no engine but an exceptionally solid body and frame, than to get a 'looks good from thirty feet', running Hudson that soon reveals itself to be a candidate for three thousand dollars worth of frame work! With a Hudson, the engine and drive train will be the easiest things to find new or good used replacement parts for; the sheet metal, the hardest.
