Ron Tautkus, a Pennsylvania Hudson enthusiast and long-time H-E-T member, died Sunday, September 5 after a long illness. He was a member of the Western Reserve Chapter and for many years the editor of its newsletter, "The Hornet's Nest". Information about funeral plans will be posted here as they become available.

  • Born on March 22, 1935 in Glassport, PA, son of the late Frank and Agnes (Habowski) Tautkus.



    Ron was the secretary of Nixon Methodist Church for over fifteen years. He was an active parishoner at Holy Sepulcher Catholic Church for over thirty-six years and a member of the Army Reserves for six years. Active with the Hudson Essex Terraplane Club for forty years, Ron also was involved with the WPC Auto Club. He was originally a musician in his father's band called the Cavaliers and later went on to form his own band named the Fabulous Esquires which performed in many clubs in and around the Pittsburgh area.



    Beloved husband for 46 years of Marianne (Lake) Tautkus. Father of Stephanie M. Tautkus of St. Cloud, FL, Ronald F. (Christine) Tautkus Jr. of Butler, and Eric J. (Heather) Tautkus of Butler. Brother of Robert and David Tautkus of Pittsburgh.



    Family will receive friends Tuesday 7-9 p.m. and Wednesday 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at the Schellhaas Funeral Home, Ltd., 5864 Heckert Rd., Bakerstown, Richland Twp. Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday at 10:00 a.m. in Holy Sepulcher Church, Fr. Dan Mauer, celebrant. (Rosary prayed 1/2 hour before mass.) Interment in Brownsdale Cemetery, Penn Twp.
