  • Yes, not in a '54 but in a '53 Wasp. The biggest issue is the oil pan. Getting it to a rear sump around the steering was a chore but it certainly can be done. I used the Hudson suspension and steering with no problems.

There will be additional fabrication for the rear transmission crossmember but that's not too difficult. After that, your choice will still be a two piece driveline or a single driveshaft. Due to the torque of the 460, I went to a single piece driveline and changed out the rear axle assembly to a Ford 9". I wouldn't take a guess as to how long the original Dana 44 type rear axle assembly would last, it all depends on mileage and wear that's inherent with a 50 year old car.

We used the '53 as a drag car for nostalgia bracket racing mostly but it was still very streetable. Fabrication of a new radiator support to utilize a good crossflow radiator is also suggested as the Fords seem to work better with them. We used both but the original Hudson radiator didn't last long. I have heard of using a Chrysler Van/Truck radiator for a 360 engine but haven't used it personally.
  • Ty For The Info

Would You Happen To Have Any Pictures Of It?
  • Sorry, no. We were running it in the late 80's and early 90's.
