Hudson Newbie with Model # Question

Unknown
edited November -1 in HUDSON
I've enjoyed being a quiet bystander on the forum (learned quite a bit) for some time and now have a 52 Wasp (with a Hornet 308) of my own. My father has had Hudsons for years and now I'm taking on the hobby on my own. I have a question about model #s.

My model # is 11A with a serial # of 2515 and I believe the car was built in Canada. Does this explain the 11A model #? I cannot find any record of 11A as a valid #.

If any Hudsonite expert could shed light into this please let me know.

Thanks again for all the valuable information and insight provided on this forum.

    Hi,

The model 11A was a 1951 Pacemaker built in Canada, as you stated.

I have a 1951 Weight Sheet in my General Information Handbook that lists this model as a Sedan with the following weights assigned:

    Shipping Weight (w/5 tires) - 3460

    Shipping Weight (w/4 tires) - 3405

Note: Shipping and/or License weights normally include spare wheel, tire, tube, tools and jack, but no gas, oil or water.

    Total weight - 3644 (Front - 2015 / 55.3%; Rear - 1629 / 44.7%.

Hope this helps answer your question.

  • Thank you Alex for the quick detailed response!
  • 11A is definitley a Hudson Pacemaker that was assembled at the Hudson plant in Tilbury Ontario. if its showing Wasp badges then someone has rebadged it. It is the same model as the 116" wheelbase Pacemaker 4A made in the detroit Hudson plant.

    Actually, it's on a 119" wheelbase.
