Air/Oil Bath Filter

Everything in my engine compartment (52 Pacemaker) so far has remained "stock" and "Hudson powered", except the 12V conversion. I have noticed many different types of air/oil bath filter replacements in online photos of other step down Hudsons that fit on the Carter carb. While I am sure that the old style oil bath filter system I have currently works the way it should... are the paper filters and canister styles cleaners that go along with them a better alternative? Of course it is easier to replace and clean a paper filter assembly than to work with the oil bath.... but I want to keep the stock car looking stock.... .

Any recommendations or thoughts?

Thanks.

  • I almost always go with the premise that stock is best. It ads to the nostalgia of the car. It is not often that you have to change the oil in your air cleaner so I say why change?

I would be interested in that K & N number, as I have a Super Jet with Twin H Power.

  • In fact I think I would be interested in that number if you could locate it - thanks for the info.

Is that the element that replaces the coarse steel-wool thing on the 308 Twin-h Filters? Please please please let it be. I don't trust mine. How well can it filter the air if you can damn near see through the things?
