'39 gas tank factory ohm readings?
Does anyone know what the factory sending unit should have been? Someone has fabricated the tank on my car and it is a side mounted sending unit (perhaps an old Jeep sending unit).the sending unit is shot and the plastic float is full of gas. I want to order one that will work with the original gauge. The one that is in it looks similar to one from a '46 Willys Jeep.

The original unit is a bi-metal one, not resistor. The later ones used a 90 ohm resistor, but need to be stabilised at 5 volts to work properly.0
