  • Are you wanting the gear/pump or the cam because a lobe has gone bad?
  • If you need a just the distributor gear or a cam call Randy Maas http://21stcenturyhudson.net/ he has what you are looking for.
  • The lobe on the cam is bad, I need the cam
  • Randy should have a cam for you so give him a call.
  • Please check your oil pump drive gear, to be sure it is Bronze not steel. The oil pump may have been changed in the past and an early 232/262 (1948) oil pump may have been used which had a steel gear. The end result is damage to the cam shaft drive gear. Another area to check is cam shaft end play, which is controlled by the camshaft retained to camshaft gear clearance. When you replace the cam you should replace the oil pump drive gear (order from Randy Maas) and check the camshaft thrust clearance (should be no more than .005) Also you will need to obtain a new straight pin to secure the new bronze gear to the oil pump shaft. I have been using Dorman brand straight pin # 630-013 with good success.
