My Grandson (age 2 1/2) called me up from Davenport Iowa to tell me he had a "doc Hudson" car. I'll have to ask him if it came from "Apple Jacks".

lol. I bought two boxes of cocoa krispies because of the tantalizing chance to get Doc... Nope, got two Mater's (tow truck). Disney is supposed to release their stuff later this month. Toys R Us had a small selection of things yesterday, but no Doc's.
  • My wife bought 4 boxes yesterday. I got 2 Docs a Sally & a Lightening McQueen. 2 Hudsons came out of Fruit Loops & Apple Jacks. Sally came from Pops, McQueen from Rice Krispies..These are really cool, they are pullback cars. Pullem back and watchem go
  • Hey guys, I'm actually in Disney for a vacation right now untill Sat. I'll check and see what they have "Doc Hudson" wise. If any of you want something I'll see what I can get in the suitcase or at least let you know what's coming out so you know what to look for. If they have any dicast cars I will be picking up a few :-)
  • i will have to stock up on cereal! i wonder if the kids will be willing to share the toys with me? hahaha
  • My 18 year old daughter thought of me yesterday as she brought me the Doc Hudson that was in the cereal box she opened. I didn't think she cared so much LOL!. She will hit me up for some money sometime soon, I'm sure.

  • I was at Auto Zone today, Valvoline has an offer that just started, buy one of three products, and get a free CARS hat and a rebate for thr item purchased. Lou Cote
  • HI..Found Kelloggs cereal named cars now.. looks like Lucky Charms but the little marshmallow pieces are cars. Has trading cards on rear of box..One has license plates but never got them...Cereal anyone? we have plenty !!!!!!!!!
  • FYI - They had the Lightning McQueen and Mater the tow truck driving around the MGM park while I was there. Kind of funny because Lightning sounded and looked like a real hot car from the sounds of it, but... I looked under the car and tow truck and both had monster electric motors driving the cars. I asked and the guards comfirmed that the only real hot thing in the car and truck was the stereo system that can out rock any club at Pleasure Island and of course out sound a real NASCAR.

Anyway, after checking out a stand with the only "CARS" toys in Disney World I noticed there are a bunch of the cars done in diecast and a slot car track with our favorite "Doc Hudson" and a bunch of candy toys. Probably much more, but some A$$ bought out the whole stand of stuff and they were boxing it it all up for him, he said if was for his kids, YEAH RIGHT! I'm sure it will all be on ebay this week. I hate these guys as well as the guys who raid the Walmart first thing in the morning and buy all the good hotwheels before the true kids get a shot at them.

Anyway part 2... looks like some good "Cars" stuff is on it's way to the Disney stores for display on June 9th :-)

    I hate you all ;)

After 2 boxes of Rice Crispies (I'm the hit at poker night with Rice Crispies Squares... )

1 Box of Apple Jacks (Been 35 +- years since I ate that for breakfast)

    and now...

    1 Box of Frosted Flakes

All I have to show for my efforts and nearly $20.00 hard earned cash...

    2 - Tow Maters
    1 - Luigi
    1 - Sally

If someone wants to fill out their cereal Cars collection - I'll send a pan of rice crispies treats and my ULTRA-RARE set of cereal Cars (2 - Tow Maters, 1 - Luigi, 1 - Sally - no one has these yet, right?) for just 1 Doc Hudson! (Seems they forgot to put any of those in our cereal boxes up north  :D)
  • Dang, you are making a pretty good offer there, Dan. If I get another Doc, I'll take you up on it.

    Bob.
  • I was with my son at the mall today buying a card for Mom when I happen to stop by the Disney store. I bought 2 Doc Hudsons (1) for my boy to play with now, and (2) one I put up in the closet for safekeeping. I also bought him a Lightning McQueen t-shirt as there was no Doc t-shirt available. The cars are cheap little plastic cars made in China and the Hudson I opened doesn't even make the four sounds its supposed to (only repeats one), but that's what's available nowadays. Funny, there were more Docs on the shelf than any other car......too many Nascar fans around here I guess. I thought about buying the rest of the Docs, but didn't think it was fair to other folks.

Got me a Doc from the local k-mart for $2.99. Only forund one but i will keep looking around town at the other stores for them knowing my son will want one when he comes over for the weekend next weekend so this one will stay in the package and will open another when it is found. :) Also seen where they have the pop tarts out and coloring books avaible.
  • I was at Fred Meyer Today and they had just put out there collection of "Cars" Diecast toys. I bought 6 Doc Hudsons and 3 of the police cars. I am not putting mine up for sale on ebay but showing them to my Hudson to show her what she could look like one day. Of course my old girl is a 4 door but she understands. I am willing to trade of a couple of my extra toys

I checked out the local Toy's 'R Us and Wally World in southern Maine this week - no joy in Mudville. Meantiime over in VT one of our New England Chapter members found Doc Hudson in both T 'R U AND Wally World over in her area of Vermont.

In the meantime go to ebay (why not!!!) and type in Doc Hudson - they're all over the place, $3.99 to $20.

We shall continue the hunt for the elusive Doc Hudson.

    Hudsonly,

    Alex B
  • i found doc hudson in toy's r us and target here in southern ma. my wife found him in stop and shop(grocery store).

  • I went to the Disney store in our local mall and got a couple of plush toys and the talking Doc Hudson. I told the clerk that I had one of these Hudsons. Funny, she said another guy came in who had a 59 Impala (The character Ramone) to buy his. I think I'll try our toys r us for the hot wheels. My brother and I are taking the 48 and 51 Hudsons to the local Friday night cruise tomorrow evening. I want to make sure I have all the goodies!
  • FYI- These are also now carried at Mervin's clothing stores.
  • Bought the only DOC at Wally world tonite... $3.17. Lots of other character cars.. but only the one DOC.
  • Got the Doc plush toy in my office. What a big kid I am. When my daughter tried to pick it up I said "mine" and looked annoyed. Its so sad.....I have the real thing in the garage, which I also say "mine" when anyone looks.....
  • Was in K Mart yesterday, there were "Cars" beach towels for sale, also small cars on sale @ $2.99...
  • It is sad that here in the Washington, DC area the local groacery chains are carrying them for $3.99 and they say they are "on sale" for that price. Along with the gas prices around $3.10 for regular unleaded... these people are killin me. The REAL QUESTION is this: where do you get a hose small enough to siphon the gas out of these toy cars? I need it! There is bound to be a magical supply behind that gas door guard on Doc Hudson.... Yes, I know, at this point many of you are saying, "Hey, this dude has got to lay off the sweetened "Cars" cereal boxes at bit - he thinks there's gas in those dang toys!"

Great day today. I was out preping our car ('47 Ford convertible) to head up to Fredericksburg, Texas today for the 3-day Rod Run sponsered by the Lone Star Street Rod Association. My wife comes in from shopping and lo and behold she had a large box of Apple Jacks. I had to open them immediately. Yep! I have my "Doc" now. AND, I'll be eating dry Apple Jacks as a snack all the way to Fredericksburg.

    Peace,

    Chaz
  • I live and work in Riverside, Ca. and I drive my 52 Hornet to work a couple times a week. About a year and a half ago, one of my employees came in and said that some guy was in the parking lot taking pictures of my car, and wanted to know who owned it.

Now, my car isn't exactly a rat rod, but it's not nice enough that people fall all over their self's to take pictures of it either, so I went out to talk to the guy. He explained that he was commissioned by Pixar to to make up wooden models of all of the cars for their new picture "Cars". He had never seen a "real" Hudson, other than in photos. (He was pretty young.) Over the next few weeks he would come by and show me the little wodden cars as he finished them. He said that he would give me one when he was done.

He has since moved out of his location, and I too have resorted to eating cereal that I gave up years ago, just to get a plastic one like everyone else.

    oh well. :) Terry

Hello Terry! I sure hope this young fellow will come through with the wooden Hudson. I have a step down cnvt. made out of wood that I got from Bill Albright years ago. Are you in the Inland chapter of the Hudson club? I will have my collection of toy Hudson at the W'stn Reg. meet in June in Ontario Ca. I hope you get your wooden Hudson, at my age I have a woodie! :) VicTor
  • Hi VicTor,

I haven't joined yet, but I intend to. Where/when is the meet going to be? I would love to go. I'll stop by to look at your "toys". Do you know if there will be a swapmeet?

    Thanks, Terry
