I bought several dash clusters and now have two clocks. One is much thicker than the other and has a longer stem and will fit in my 54 Hornet.  The other one has a shorter stem.  Is this from another year?

    Yes, the other is from a 1955 instrument cluster which looks identical from the outside but has a different internal construction. The 1955 has the markings for the instruments painted or etched on the glass.

    I had the same experience and ended up refurbishing an electric clock that then didn’t fit my 1954 dash because it was a 1955 clock. It was a learning experience for me.
