Transmission Disassembly Help

Tearing down a single lever 3 speed transmission for cleaning, it's been sitting empty for a long time and has some light surface rust in it. The issue is, I can't get the 2nd/high shift rail out, I'm guessing the lower lock ball it stuck, I've tried a slide hammer and levering against the exposed end with no luck. Any tricks or tips to this?

    Can you get some PB Blaster inside there with the spray straw?

    I've been spraying PB Blaster in there.....to no benefit yet.
