Holes leading to CAM bearings

There are dowels which locate the bearings. The holes are plugged with a cup type plug.0

And yes, all H.E.T. engines have them.0

Thanks Geoff. Do you know where I can get these plugs?

Also you mention dowels. Do the dowels remain in the block to how the bearing position? And do you then put the plug over them? Thank you.0

yes, the dowels are pushed into position into the holes in the bearings, with half staying in the block., and the plugs and installed after. You should be able to get them form an engine rebuilding shop,0

Hi Geoff - I tried to plug the holes with ultra silicone but they seem to leak. Are the plugs you are suggesting press in? I don't want threaded because I've already put the engine together and I'd be afraid to cut threads in the holes. Thanks.

I am slightly amiss in saying saying "dowels". They are actually cup-shaped small welsh plugs. Impossible to get out unless you have the camshaft out unfortunatley.
