1954 Spring Green Paint
I am looking to replicate the original Spring Green paint on my 1954 sedan. I realize that the original color has aged and therefore do not want to have the paint shop computer match the aged paint. I want to do the Base Coat/ClearCoat process. Does anyone have the PPG Paint Code for 1954 Spring Green?
Thanks, John Forkner

I have a Dupont Color chart and the 1954 Spring Green has a Duco 1704 code on it. The mix is as follows
1704
246-57721 Spring Green
Mix
246-0097 White
246-0064 Ferrite Yellow
246-0785-H Blue Toned Green
246-025 Black
Maybe this is enough info to get a modern cross match.0 -
I believe that Charles Regnerus, who owns Alter Collision in Detroit, went to the trouble to reformulate many original Hudson colors in the modern PPG basecoat/clearcoat system. Mr. Regnerus is a member of the club and you should be able to find his contact info in the roster.
Also, if I remember correctly, there was an article written in the WTN some years back that published many of these new formulas that he developed. I'm pretty sure a call to Charlie will get you the info you need. Good luck.
