Helpful tip for step down owners
Next time you have your hood open take a piece of wire and make a loop in one end. Put the other end through the hole the hood release cable comes through and attach it to hood release lever and let it hand down behind the grill. That way if the release cable breaks, or the lock screw on the end comes off you will have a way to open the hood.
