Main bearing caps -stepdown

I wonder if the 4 main bearing caps for the 232,, 262, and 308 are the same and interchangeable - The parts manual is unclear. I am searching for the caps from a 308 that was left unfinished at a machine shop - I think they lost them and did not include them with other parts received. I have other engine blocks I can rob. Gert

    Should be the same, just have it line bored to true them up to your block.

    After some study they must be the same as the same inserts are used for the 6 's - same for rod brgs. Just oversizes different - so inserts for main brgs are same for 232,262 and 308 -don't think you can line bore though - needed on babbit brgs yes. Gert
