Using an antique car consignment sales company to sell your Hudson.
Have you ever used an antique car consignment sales company to sell your Hudson? Do you know anyone who has? There are quite a few of them, and they sound like a good idea. The larger ones provide climate-controlled storage, clean-up, advertising, maintenance of cars, and other professional services aimed to making the selling process an easy one. In return, they take a "cut" of the sales price. This can make them quite attractive to someone who has (for instance) inherited a car and wants to sell it -- but not spend time getting the car ready for sale, researching valuation, showing the car to dozens of prospective buyers, etc.
The Classic Auto Mall in Morgantown, PA is such a facility. It is built in an old shopping mall that can accommodate 1,000 cars.
I would love to talk to someone who has used such a company, whether or not the car was actually sold. https://www.classicautomall.com/our-story
I'll be grateful to hear from you!

Jon, I know a 49 stepdown sold there and was in not the greatest condition if you asked me. I will find someone who knows more about it. I have been there and it is an interesting place for sure

Thanks, Dan. Ideally, I'd like to locate a similar facility, but maybe in New Jersey -- closer to where the Hudsons are!

Jon assuming you are selling your Terraplane? What I do know about these places is that there is a flat fee, depending on the asking price charged up front, and then a cut of the sale if a sale occurs.

No, this is on behalf of a friend's widow.

Frankly, unless the car is worth quite a bit I would be hesitant to pay the retainer, plus commission to one of these outfits. The cars at the one in PA were anywhere from a 4 to some a 1. I would say most were #2 to #3.

That's where the young man goes who films 'you tube' videos on "What It's Like"

There's not a club member near who could help her? Or is it multiple cars that would be quite an ask? Could an auction be an option (fees may be less than the consignor type sale)?
