Axle or hub question (1928 Essex super6)
My wheels seem to go too far onto the rear axle I made some felt seals, the keyway on the axle goes PAST the seal thusly wrecking the seal, is this a common problem?
the axle and hub are tapered, Im wondering IF either are worn ,letting the hub get too close to the inner bearing as there is wear at the end of the hub, also the castle nut goes PAST the cotter pin should i put some sort of brass shim around the axle from keystock around to other side of keystock
This is getting me worried,
Thanks for ANY logical solution.

The inner taper of the hub is worn. Temporary fix is to cut a STEEL shim. Brass will fret away very quickly.

I may have spare rear hubs if needed. Let me know and then I will have a hunt for some.
