Glass Bowl Fuel Filter advice?
I currently do not have a fuel filter installed within the fuel line of the Pacemaker and would like to install one. Besides the used bowls and other filters on Ebay, does anyone have a recommendation as to brand and installation site. I am thinking that fuel filters were not standard stock parts for the 1952 Hudsons... or maybe they were, but I cannot find any info. on them from the available texts I have (from HET manuals mostly).... What would have been the choice install as far as glass bowl fuel filters and the like? I know AC delco has the GF124 units and the papaer filter inserts for them AF124....
Any advice here? Thanks all!

ANY METAL OR PLASTIC IN LINE FILTER WORKS FINE. I HAVE DOZENS OF ORIGINAL GLASS BOWL FILTERS, BUT THE RUBBER SEALING GASKETS HAVE ALL DETERIORATED WITH THE ADDITIVES IN MODORN GAS, ANYONE KNOW WHERE TO FIND CORRECT RUBBER SEALS FOR THE BOWLS????? bill albright0

Excellent - I will start looking for an inline metal one that can easily be replaced.0

I use the plastic see-thru ones in the line under the car. You can tell when they are getting dirty.0

Cut new seals for the glass bowl filters from nitrile sheet. You should be able to buy offcuts in different thickneses from industrial gasket manufacturers.0

Your local tractor dealer should be able to help with gaskets.
Have a nice day

Kevin, The thing to watch out for using old ceramic filter elements is invisible blockage. This occurs when dirt or sludge particles fill up the porus ceramic filter to the point that you cannot run your car smoothly. If you are able to get NOS ceramic filter units, install them. If not take your old unit and soak it in MEK or similar cleaner. You need to get the unit unclogged from the dirt it had been filtering out. Paper pleated modern elements are available if you have no ceramic element or if you don't wish to use the old one. Hudsons used both the Carter and AC brand of filters.0
