Let's take a poll.....
Okay, someone raised the question, what would you rather have...
The 54 prototype jet convertible
or the 51 hollywood.
funny, but after seeing the pictures, the jet is pretty cool....
for arguments sake, lets just say each is about equal in condition...
so no one says I would rather have a done driving car rather than a rust bucket...
seriously, someone is going to bring the jet back, it's only a matter of time...

I'm going with the Hollywood, it would look better as a modified! The Jet is just too stubby for me.

Even if they were equal condition they are different in rarity. However, if I were only allowed one Hudson to own, between the two, I'd rather pull into a car show with a Hornet.0 -
If You Were Allowed Only One Hudson. No One Should Suffer So. I Have Dozens Including A Hollywood Hornet. Give Me The One Of A Kind Jet Conv. No Comparison, Bill Albright0
-
I like convertibles anyway, though I don't have one now, so I'm voting for the Jet0
-
The Jet, of course!!!...NOT!
I'd take the Hornet any day of the week.0 -

Now I would take the Jet CV over a Metropolitan or a Hash!0 -
Not choices in the poll!!! You HAVE to stick with the poll! Soylent Green is PEOPLE!!!
Niels - me, too!0 -
Of course, all things being equal; I'd take the Jet. Issues of rarity and having the only one outweigh the Hollywood. Would that I could...

If wishes where bird sh** we'd all have geraniums growing on the tops of our heads. If it's really a factory prototype, the Jet. Who wants to restore somebody else's barnyard handywork? :cool:0

I think it has been thoroughly proven that this is in fact the real McCoy...
If it is anyone's barnyard handywork, it is that of the hudson factory.0 -

Sorry, I didn't get that it was factory fer sher. Its an exciting find, and will be a great piece when somebody restores it. :cool:0 -
While I prefer bigger cars and have yet to own or drive in a Jet, there's something to be said for being the only kid on your block to have one. LOL0

Did I miss a previous thread that mentions the documentation for this car? How do you guys know it is the real deal? Is it Hudson urban legend or is there something else I missed?0 -
I'd have to go with the Jet due to its rarity, if it is actually a factory prototype
Is it authentic? I've seen several "factory prototype" stepdown pick-ups advertised for sale. How many are out there?
 I need to see proof!
Have a nice day

While I'm not a Jet fan, this one would be really neat to have. I'm trying to figure whether the rear body has rotted to a point where the back end has settled much lower then the front, or whether it was lifted in the middle and the frame bent upward. It's odd seeing the doors that much higher than the rear fenders. Has anyone actually had a chance to see this car in the last several years?0

i'm getting tired of you guys saying if it's a real jet cv we old time club members have known about the car for over 40 years ( IT'S THE REAL THING)!!!!and I FOR ONE THINK IT WOULD BE A KEEPER I'VE SEEN ALOT OF 51 HOLLYWOODS BUT ONLY ONE HUDSON JET CV0

yup, didn't want to put myself in that 40 years club, being that I'm not that old, but I bet I heard about the existence of the jet prototype for 15+ years. It isn't a big secret, and if it was fake, there would have been a ton of threads that it was a fake. GEEZ.....
One thing that you got to think about is those roof pillars on the hollywoods, yuck, I would have to find someone to cut the roof off and make me a convertible....
Anyway, there are a few pictures of that jet, looking at it from 3/4 rear view, it is the one of the coolest looking cars....0 -
I agree about the rear roof pillar. It always thought they looked like the back window was installed upside down.0

Sorry but some of us haven't been around the club that long but most people outside or even inside Hudsondom would expect documentation to backup a claim like this besides Hudson lore. It's not asking anything out of the ordinary. If it doesnt have any then it doesnt have any and people can decide for themselves. People with big bucks want big documentation.0
