A dark red triangle would be most appropriate. Have you checked out K-gap
to see if they have emblems that will work for you. Just keep in mind,
whatever you use must be able to handle the elements as well as the heat
generated by the brakes. BTW, nice car!

Well, Tom, since you asked, I think they look a little cheesy. The wheel rim is so obvious underneath- needs a double set of wires, or something, to kind of conceal the rim. I had an '81 Eldorado Biarritz with fake wires, and the wheel underneath was not nearly as obvious. No offense meant, but you asked. . .0

Good observation. How about painting the rims black? Seems to have worked nicely on the Cadillac wire wheel covers.0 -
I'm sorry, Tom, but I second Mike(WA)'s opinion. IMHO, wire wheel covers don't look good on ANYTHING. I think the factory stock ones don't even look good on our '87 Cadillac Brougham. They are intended to simulate wire wheels but fail on every count I've ever seen and I feel that one is better off with the real thing. I suppose if you painted the wheels flat black so they don't show through as much, it might help; but my own experience regarding asking people how something looks on a car is: if ya gotta ask, ya got doubts to start out with...0

any ideas of a hudson LOGO decal that I could apply to the center to make it more HUDSON?
Tom... The Wire wheel caps are a nice touch!
Check out the real deal... BTW... the wheel peeking through is 100% right....
See what the Cad caps look like on a Stepdown... I made metal triangles with mounting studs, painted red and mounted in the original Cadillac emblem holes... they are on my car...
Cheers from Texas:)0 -
I like the Wire Wheel Hubcaps. They give it the right amount of sparkle.
Real wire wheels might look good with the suspension slammed to the ground and the body painted with purple metal flake paint:p0 -
Tom, if you want wire wheelcovers without spending $1,500 for true-spoke Kelsey-Hayes wheels, find a complete set of Chrysler wires from 1977-1988 off of a Fifth Avenue or BIG New Yorker (not the front-driver). You'll also need the little cap that goes underneath the cover and the cover has an keyed bolt that holds it to the hub. You'll need the wheelcover key with the set, too.

Well that settles it. Since Ken's car looks like it's as close to perfect as it can be, maybe he has time to dash off a set of metal emblems.0 -
i LIKE THEM tOM, GET A RED TRIANGLE IN THE CENTER AND THEY WILL LOOK ALMOST LIKE THE READL WIRE COVERS. BUT GET RID OF THE cheesy clampon rear view mirror and order a good pair of mirrors from me lol0

From what I can see of your car the paint and overall fit and finish are excellent. Looks like a really nice car and yes K-Gap has center logos you can buy. They are a red vinyl triangle so you could work them on the the existing hubs would look really nice with the Hudson triangle.0

Ya, Tom, get rid of those mirrors and buy some new ones from Bill. We need to keep Bill alive and well fed so he can keep those Hudson parts flowing.:D0 -
The important question is, do you like them? Forget what I think, just drive it! I will be impressed just seeing it.0

LOL, I guess everyone is "all over the board" on this one. If you decide to get the Bill A mirrors, I'll buy your clamp-on(s)- The one on my '48 coupe has seen about 50 years of hard labor- the back shows the dents of a thousand bugs, and about half the silvering is gone. But I prefer the clamp ons to the door mounts.0 -
