You can get them from a Ford supplier. Dennis Carpenter in NC and Mac's In NY come to mind and probably others:D . Just bend the rod on the float to get the proper travel. Works great.

    Good Luck, Dave

Yup, these Ford things have the same screw pattern as Hudsons from at least 36-54.

Stewart Warner's is about $50, and there is a cheaper version out there for about $35 Both include float and gasket. Floats are available separately.

Actually, the LENGTH of the rod must be adjusted (cut) so as to have full travel depending on the tank depth. The deeper the tank, the longer the rod.

The ANGLE of the rod must be changed because the unit is mounted in the TOP of the Ford tank, while our Hudsons mount at an angle on the front of the tank. It's a better idea, since we can remove/replace the unit without dropping the tank.

Make sure you ground the unit to the frame.
  • Here is the site for the 6 volt positive ground Ford sending unit. With a little adjustment it will work fine.http://store.bobdrake.com/19gastansen.html
