'50 Wheel Color Code needed

I had been to that site and it looks like it might be the Cornish(?) Cream, but it is tough to make out the codes on the screen. Not sure if this was only a body color or both body and wheel?0

I had the wheels on my '40 mediablasted, trued and powdercoated (black) before putting on radial tires last year. What an improvement over paint!! Since they have other powdercoat colors now, maybe you can find one that's close enough...
The interesting? thing about 47 & prior Hudson wheels is that almost every year is different. Sure, they all fit, but if you look at the number and length of the slots, you will see varying sizes of opening. I found this out after I bought the wrong ones...and the two I bought weren't even the same! You have to wonder how Hudson made money when they produced so many anomolies over the years...:cool:0 -
My '50 C8 has red wheels which I'm sure are original. I've seen other '50s with the same red (in addition to the yellow that you mention). My car is a maroon color whose name and code letter escapes me at the moment. I've often wondered if someone in the club might have some of the wheel color paint formulas. Ebay item #4592485130 was a can of original Hudson "Coronation Red" wheel paint that sold last November to an individual with the moniker of "tristansdaz". The can had a Hudson part number C 175652 on it. I'm fairly certain that this is a color specificly for wheels and not a body color, but I could be wrong on that point. I considered contacting the buyer to see if he had any plans on computer matching the color, never got around to it. Chances are he just bought it for it's collectabilty. The White Triangle News lists a paint advisor, but states that his help is regarding preparation and application. I wouldn't expect this nice voluteer to have formulas. None of this is of any help to you, I know, but I toss it out because (depending on what color you are going to paint your body) you might prefer red wheels rather than a yellow.0

True, I bought it for the can. The can does state that it is "wheel enamel". That's as far as I've gotten with it. The wheels on my '54 Hornet Special have been powercoated red and it looks really good against the black car.0 -
You can go to a Powder Coater and ask if they have an RAL chart or booklet and then find pretty much any shade that you want. They can usually order a 5 pound box for about 60 bucks which will be more than enough to do 5 wheels. I have done this so many times that every year I have to throw away 15 or 20 different leftovers. You can look on the web for RAL color charts, but it is very hard to match off a moniter. Be forewarned that there are varibles in the process that alter final color such as temperature and duration of oven time, particularly with lighter colors. Also be sure that when the wheels are blasted or if they are blasted that they are cleaned thoroughly because little grains of sand can be trapped in between the rim and the wheel center and cause bubbling in the powder coating.

Thanks
Is there any chance that you have an original yellow that would rub out well enough to have it scanned? I have one but it's quite rusty. It probably wouldn't be worth the attempt.0 -

Hudson used cream color wheels on all stepdown models, unless ordered otherwise. They had 29 different wheel enamels that could be ordered. I had scan from original can of Hudson paint that I have. Paint number on Hudson can is C14765. PPG scanned number is MAE96226 A. This can be seen on picture of our pickup on page 1 at this url http://groups.msn.com/HudsonEssexTerraplaneBulletinBoard/1946hudmobilepickup.msnw?Page=20 -
Following up on the RAL color charts. RAL 9001 is cream and it looks close. Thanks to everyone of the input and info and to Dave S for the color code.0
