Hudson owners in Vancouver, Canada?

Hey all...

I just returned to Vancouver (and my '53 Hornet sedan) after a two-year absence, and I'd like to connect with other local Hudson owners (lower mainland area and Vancouver Island).

The last time I checked, there weren't too many (if any) other Hudsonites around here. In fact, I've only ever seen one other Hudson in this area (a stepdown parked one day near my apartment in Kitsilano neighbourhood). Maybe one or two folks will be showing the Hudson love at the Langley Cruise-In?

BTW, I know there's a Pacific Northwest HET chapter, but I believe that's almost exclusively folks from Washington State. Alberta also seems to have an active community (and even an annual meet), but unfortunately there's no guarantee that my car would survive a trip that long.

  • Dave,

even if you don't bring your car you should come up to the Alberta meet to meet and hang with fellow Hudnuts plus see some nice cars.

I met a guy today in the parking lot of a store. He was driving a 49 Ford coupe. We got to talking and I told him to come on out and see the Hudsons. He is coming with his 49 Ford.

At the event the Packard club is also going to be there plus some vintage Rolls Royces.

I just got a 5 foot tall sign made that looks like a vintage Hudson neon sign plus I had some Hudson service signs recreated. I want to make sure people see the Hudson signs and come on over. If the weather is like today 90 F we will be gold.

So anyone in the area or in need of a vacation come on by and see the Hudsons.

Try contacting Ivan Lajeunesse in Kelowna. I know that's a mountain or two away, but Ivan is a long-time Club member and he knows who's who. HETdilajeunesse@telus.net (drop the HET from the address). Good luck!

You may also try Fred Gertsch in Surrey or Chuck Weatherill in Gibsons. Good Luck Lou Cote Pres., NW Chapter

Yeah, I just got Fred Gertsch's name from another fella at a car show last weekend.

Apparently he used to have two '54s, a convertible and (I think) a coupe, but sold the convertible to someone else (non-local) a while back.

    I'll try looking him up.
