I called this dealer and was quoted $39,500 asking- single carb, Hydamatic. Overpriced but it looks to be a nice car.

Whoa! No description. Only three pics. In the interior pic you can see stains on the door panel fabric and rust on the inner window sill (like mine). 40K is way out of line for that car! I hope they enjoy looking at it!
  • This is were stupid people and an even stupid buyer meet. I guess you can ask what you want for a car, but in my opinion this is the kind of stuff that has ruined this great hobby for the avg. car guy.

  • nhp1127, please feel free to e-mail me at oldcar_mechanic@comcast.net for information regarding this.

It's not my car but I do know the place selling it.

I went to the web page and the price was listed as $32,500. I know these people. They've been into Hudsons for a long time and don't sell junk. A little over priced, perhaps? I don't know, I haven't seen the car. I wouldn't go by a couple of digital pictures.

I don't have anything thing against these guys, never did. Just saying that $39,500 was way too much for this car. $32,500 is significantly lower than originally advertised and it still is too strong money. You can buy a restored 51 Hornet Coupe in the latest WTN for $21,000- that is a great deal!

These guys didn't list the original price and forced you to call to find out the price. I HATE that sales tactic. Also, they didn't give me the courtesy of replying to my e-mail. In their defense, the older gentleman was very nice when I called. Like I said, nothing against them, just pet peeves on good biz.

There's also one from Hyman motors for $39,500. Could that be the one the first post refers to? Curious...

  • looks like same car. 10 thou diff ?? i may be wrong, but......
  • seems to me the two cars are the same. Look at the pictures.....

edit* nope, I'm wrong, the driver mirrors are different, but wow, they sure are similar....
  • yes, they are very close. i notice the 1st one has a sticker on left front window. very close, i would go the 2nd one. both very nice examples. dermot.:D
  • both/same are from chicago classic ??
  • The cars are the same. There are some differences, but I would bet they are the same. Wouldn't bet much, maybe a soda, but I think the car is the same. I think they removed the stickers from the car and I really can't see any difference in the mirror other than the angle the picture was taken from. The stains on the door panels are very simular. Is it coincedence that the radios are set on the same station. And the clock is stopped at the same time. I can't see whether the cable that is routed beside the steering column is present on the Ebay car. That would be the one with the golf tee stuck in the end of it.

  • FYI. Before car was listed for sale/auction, informed sources indicate this car as having just been sold at auction for $23,000.00.

I do believe it's the same car. Photos perhaps taken at different times. Background appears to be in the same area, though not exact scene. Key is the wear on the valence molding of the driver's door. Note wear extends to just under vent windlow in both pictures. Would think odds of having two so close miniscule. Walt
  • Reading the evidence presented here I think we have all been watching too much CSI :D
  • Yes, they are both the same car being sold by the same dealer in Gurnee.

  • You all would have laughed at me last night before I made my assumption about the two cars being one and the same. I had my 6 inch magnifying glass out looking at the pictures.:D
