1936 Accessory Catalog/Paint chips

The first idea would be to contact the H-E-T Club Library. I don't know if they lend out spare copies to Club members, but it's worth a try. You can also probably have the thing photocopied (at a nominal charge).0

Tried that website for me, but doesn't list the "revue red" which originally came on my Coupe. I ordered a paint chip sheet on eBay awhile back but it didn't have the color chip on it. Does anyone know where I can see a chip of this color? Or maybe a code I can take somewhere and have a small batch made up?
Jay
Hey Dennis in NY - Isn't that the red you settled on for your sweet convert?0 -
Try this website: www.kenmcgeeautobooks.com He has a large assortment of literature.0

Jay,
The 1950 Paint Chart lists Revue Red PolyDAL-50173 at the bottom as a cross reference to the 1949 Paint Chart. When you get to the 1949 chart it doesn't show Revue Red Poly, but it does show Radiant Red Poly with the same DAL-50173 paint code.

I hope this helps...

Thanks Matt, now I see what I missed before. I'll have to lok back at my chip chart, because its a 1050 chart and lists the revue red but its missing the glued on chip and its says not available. Maybe the factory used the 49 color but changed the name, since the original 1950 sales order for the car shows there was an additional charge for the "revue red" color. Can a paint shop make a small batch using that DAL #? The chart color looks much darker than the pic I have of the car with the original paint job (though photo quality and time I'm sure change it also).

Finally figured out how to reply. Thanks for the help, but 1936 was the only year for the 11 colors they used that year. I looked at several year model paint chips back to 32 and up to 1942, but no matches. I will try and call Ken McGee in the morning. Also wrote to the club library, maybe they will have the paint chips or accessory catalog.0
