Sorry, looks ugly to me......kind of like a squashed bug! And it sits too high off the ground. Should of channeled it along with a section job not so extreme. Fenders make the car look like he was trying to make a "bug-eyed sprite" out of it. It does look like a good job was done, just not my style.

Jay, you're crazy....
that thing is awesome....
but I can see your point about the fenders. Funny how I thought the same thing, about the bug eye and all, I bet this bad boy was done before the sprites came out. A little more height back into the body, and/or a tiny bit out of the front fenders would have made it even better. I would have liked to seen it in person, to really get a better idea. seems to have a lot of 30's flair to it....
Just think though, if this is in fact a Barris custom, here we are critiquing it, almost like offering points of improvement to a van gogh....
well, they all can't be winners....0 -
I don't care if it is a Barris custom or not, It is Ugly with a capital UG-ly. I do like the engine but the rest of it is ...............Well thats my opinion, and someone else must have liked it or they would not have built it.

Yeah, hated to dish a Barris, but I did say it looked like a good job, just not my taste. I think its the section job. For me just too much cut out for the style of fenders. True that I'm not seeing it in person. I do like those chopped '60's Caddies with the Carson tops, but on those the fenders don't look higher than the body.
Of course, if it was free or cheap......I wouldn't turn it down! :-)

Jeez Jay, when are we ever gonna agree?! I finally like a nice radical custom that looks like a quality car! Oh well maybe someday...
Greetings to all from Kauai, Hawaii- nice but no Hudsons! Be back Monday......

In person it isn't too bad looking. The car was at the Madison National. It is Gus's car. Originally the car was not purple. Gus has made a few modifications since it has been in his care.
There was a conceptual non-Hudson twin which sold at the Atlantic City auction last year. The concept worked a lot better on the non-Hudson. Thing sold for a huge amount of money0 -
Check the license plate - same car Huff Report and Hudson photo page.
