My 54 Wasp with 262 engine came equipped with a Carter 2115 S WGD Carb.

A while ago I installed a rebuilt 776 S on it.

Are these carbs interchangable on the 262 engine...Even tho I installed a

rebuilt 776S there was no change in MPG (still a crappy 12MPG)

The Carter 2115s was standard on Hornets and the Super Wasp in 1954. There is a spec sheet for it floating around the internet somewhere. Send me a PM with email address and I'll forward a copy. WAlt-LA

    Hi Tom,

some time ago,1 or 2 years ago Walt Mordenti wrote an article in WTN on carb numbers for each application and explained why. He made it sound that it's a little critical. When I go swapping carbs around I think of that atricle. I suggest an email to him, you won't have to fish around for the info you're looking for. Hope this helps, Walt's email address:MMordenti@aol.com.

    Thanks for letting me share,

    Kim
