Needing help to get the rest of the lights to work. they worked three months ago. I just completed a brake job, and a new head gasket and hoses on a 52 Hornet, and drove it tonight but not far since no other lights owrk. No tail or park or dash lights. Thanks for any suggestions.

  • sounds like it would have to be the switch. all the lights feed through but out different terminals. try switching the tail or parking lights to the headlight terminal if this gives you lights, it should confirm that the switch is bad.
  • I checked the switch. I have another used one but it did the same with it. When I put the tail wires to the head light the tail lamps worked. the turn signals work. When I cheked both in the head light position I could not get a reading between the head light and tail or park position on the switch. Should I? Do you have or know of anyone that has a good switch? thanks again. jbmiller782@comcast.net
  • you can take those old rotary switches apart, clean them up and reassemble them. Usually it is the headlights that fail.....I repaired the one on my '53 Hornet a couple of times and it kept failing until I put a headlight relay up on the fenderwell. From there on out they worked great. ......Those old switched ARE repairable though. Good Luck, Bob
