stepdown antenna
does anyone no what the turn down antenna hooks into when in the turned down position between the centre bar of windsheid? or have a spare for sale.
also looking for the top piece (chromed) that turns (or is rechromable) mine is too pitted to do. car is 53 super wasp.

There is a rest or small support that fits in the center. It is a trapazoidal shape with a notch in the top for the antenna to rest in. There should be plenty of these around. I would forget trying to find a stock antenna and go with the one Joe Stinnet (not sure I am spelling it right) sells that is cast out of stainless steel (see WTN classifieds for repro parts) I got one and it looks great. You will still need the stock pieces for the spring loaded part in that slides into the roof.0

i believe joe stinnett in fla has new anennas with a stainless base to replace the chrome piece. for the down position there is a rubber saddlt that mounts to the windshield post k gap item 274 is the antenna rest k gap also has the grommet for the antenna base to roof.0
