Last week I had an opportunity to visit Jack Miller at this place in Ypsilanti. I had not been there in about 15 years so it was good to go back. For those that do not now Jack was the editor of the WTN for many years and his father had a Hudson dealship that tranfered over to AMC in Ypsilanti in the 50s. His sign says the last Hudson Dealer! Jack is probably in his 80s now but still is going at it.

The dealership is now in Depot Town historic area in Ypsi and has been transformed into the Ypsilanti Automotive Heritage Museum. It hosts all types of automobiles and associated components made in the Ypsilanti area, these include a very nice display of Kaiser-Frazers made in the Willow Run factory, probably the biggest display in one place of KF?? The Tucker mock up used in the movie Tucker, several Corvairs & Chevy IIs, also made in Willow Run. Also several cars using the Hydromatic transmissions, again made at the Willow Run factility (GM bought this from KF when production ended there in '54). Oh I forgot he still has the full Hudson dealership, complete with garage and a good number of Hudsons and Terraplanes. There is also one of the Hornet limos used by the Mrs. Barit.

Anyway here is a link to the museum: http://www.ypsiautoheritage.org

If you get a chance to visit ther it is a great experience.

Jack is a lot younger than the age you posted!

My mistake, it just seems like Jack has been around Hudsons forever, no insult intended. However, he does look good for whatever age he is.

One of the amazing things about Jack, is his ability to remember your name and call ya by name after having met ya one time. I was in there recently and figured I'd pay my dues to the Home chapter and he said "your dues aren't due yet" bout knocked me down. He handed me a bumper sticker that says "Take a kid to a car show" he said "but you do that don't ya". He knows thier names too. I'm a single dad withan 11yr and 7 yr old. He's truly a gifted and amazing man and he makes it real easy to like him and want to be around him. I live about 70 miles from Ypsi, when I'm working that part of my area I try to resist the temptation to go there, but rarely do. Thanks for letting me share.
