Hudsons at Carisle October 8 how about a poll?

Okay, it's fast approaching us, one of my favorite shows of the year....

The hudson get together after Hershey in Carlisle, PA.

I have been talking hudsondad into driving a hudson to the show now, since mine probably wouldn't make the drive, So, how about we vote on it, let him see that he needs to drive it one last time this year before he takes it apart.

My only considerations are the weather, and that I got a long stainless trim strip that has to come along for another fellow hudson member. I'm not sure it will fit into a club coupe, I think it might, but hudsondad does not think it will. It's a piece of wide commodore rocker stainless. anyone know if it will? I think it's about 7 foot long, should fit from the front of the windshield, to the back window.

By my tally, Hudsondad wins, 1 to 10 (or however many it is now)

You're right, Mike. All the votes do not carry the same weight.

    hmmmm.....

all I got to say is that thing better be idling when I come over on Sunday.

Or I'm gonna be real dissappointed......

Two words. Spare key. Any good son knows where they are! How could he stay mad when everyone will be complementing him on his car.

    no way...

If Hudsondad decides to drive it, then that's fine, otherwise, that's his thing...

But I will say, I think the public has spoken. If weather holds out, and everything else is good, What excuse does he have? I would take mine, but 4:10 gears, no OD, and lots of other little issues, it's not ready for the 60 miles of highway...

I think we will all be disappointed if it stays in the garage next SUnday....
  • Quit picking on your Dad - Drive your own car to Carlisle. If it drives 6 miles, it will drive 60 miles. If it won't drive 6 miles it's a great excuse to spend a few hours in the garage tinkering.

Better yet, spend an extra couple bucks on gas and drive both cars to the meet!

well, I would like to drive mine. As far as why not, running it down the highway, with 4:10's and no overdrive, is certain death to my flathead.

As soon as we can remember where we put the overdrive transmission that came out of it, and driveshaft, I can put it back in, get the OD working, and maybe make those longer journeys.

My biggest problem is when I was a younger guy, that overdrive was too heavy for me to try to put back in place, alone, and since I didn't know then what I know now, the whole thing seemed too confusing to make work. I think it might be an easy fix, my only concern is that the car had supermatic drive, and the wiring might be a bit confusing, not sure yet if the harness I got from the car is all OD or has some supermatic stuff in there.

    Hopefully.....

by next year, I can drive my 50, finally, to the Carlisle meet in October.

Hey, it's only been 13 years in the planning....

    Someday.......

ok i'll buy not wanting to run 70 w/o the od but not as an excuse to brand x it there.
get up a little earlier:eek: , grab a cup of coffee and hit the side roads. 60 miles on the two lanes is a perfect way to enjoy a hudson on a fall morning.
  • ah... that's a big affirmative....

    NO

    maybe next year....
  • How 'bout Hudsonkid's Hudson ... did it make it to Carlisle?
