need help with gas tank replacement...

Guys, just had the orginal tank for my 57 Hornet stripped and it looks like swiss cheese. By the look of it someone would have to make a new bottom because the strap has worn thru, the top and rear has about 2000 holes and the front is heavy pitted on the outside and feels soft.

Any 55-57 guys out there that knows if the 55 & 56 Hudson & Nash tank is the same? Does anyone out there have a good fuel tank for a 55 thru 57 Hudson or Nash?

I can have a custom one made for the car but I really want to keep this one as stock as possible. Even going to a fuel cell is not an option on this one since its 1 of 266 built. Even though its not a true Hudson its too rare to modify in my opinion.

thanks,

Take your old tank to your local sheet metal shop and they will make you one just like it.

Not sure where you are located but if you can find a Gas Tank Renu dealer near you they can fix your tank. Probably won't be cheap, mine was $200, but they do good work and stand behind it. The prices vary by dealership on a Studebaker tank one place quoted me over $300 and one 150 miles away $200!
