Can you identify this Hudson?

I saw this Hudson at one local meet. Didn't have the chance to speak with the owner and there wasn't description with the car. With my limited knowledge I can tell that it's pre war Hudson Commodore but not sure about the year.

The grill makes it a '46 or '47.

By the Hudson emblem over the grill, its a 47.
  • Something's not quite kosher about the headlamp rings. They don't appear quite correct for this car.

Where is this? Was this car assembled another country?
  • So it's 1947 Comodore huh! Thank you guys! About the "headlamp rings" they are probably not the original ones for the model. The photos were taken in Plovdiv, Bulgaria (Eastern Europe) in one local meet. Most of the cars were European classics and only two from American makes the Hudson on the photos and one Rockne (Studebaker). This was a small meet--about 30 cars. The green car is not Pobeda but Warszawa. However Warszawa was prety much the same as Pobeda. And you are right Ken U-Tx there is Gaz Volga on the photo as well as Chaika both Russian cars. The Chaika is copy of US 1955 Packard.

    A ROCKNE!!

Wow. Studebaker only made that car for a couple of years, either '32 and '33 or '33 and '34. Would really like to see a pic of that one, if you have one.

By the way, great job, guys!
  • As far as I know less than 30,000 Rocknes were build between 1932-33. After that the make was discontinued. I will send you some cool photos of Rockne via e-mail.
