Recently I sold the last two twin H systems I owned. One on eBay and another attached to a 56 Hornet replacement engine. I was well pleased with the prices I recieved, but never would I have guessed that the price of a single system would reach $610!

    Ken,

I concur... Twin H' prices are going up... I had to find a set up for my 53 hornet last year . The intake manifold was cracked bad and the car would idle rough after it warmed up. I finally Found one and bought it from a club member . I was happy to pay 450 . Then add the cost to recondition and your up in the 1,000. dollar range. The bottom line is they're harder and harder to come by. If you Have a twin H car , it makes sense to have a back up set up in case ......
  • I might have had some imput on this as of late 2004...

I bid on a real nice, and complete set-up on eBay, rebuilt carbs, all linkage, lines, and painted air ceaners, bid over $650, and did not get it.

The I went to hershey, and figured there was always several to trip over, and had to be some air cleaners.... nope... only found an intake, used my exhaust manifold, bought rebuild kits, made carb linkage, finally bought a cross over (bolt to headpiece) and a few aircleaners... all said and done, I bet I had ~1000 in the set-up, with everything I bought. to get it all running, and working.

I think it adds some value to the car. not to mention the wow factor...

The Non Hudson Car collector that will be most likely buying at Barret Jackson this year, will only buy with twin H.... I would expect that this January you will see 6 or 7 step downs roll across the block and bring big money. The buyer's however will want Twin H..... Just a Hunch.....

Be careful. I bought one at the Orlando National for a very good price that was all clean and painted up with that nice "cast iron finish" paint. Later inspection showed that it cracked in the heat riser and fixed with putty. I guess that's why it was painted. My thinking is that these crack because they are solidly bolted to the exhaust manifold and it does a lot of expanding and contracting.

I agree. I had my old one reapaired ... cost 400 $ but it is worth knowing that it is fixed right.
