Sunday Carlisle Hudson show/ report
pictures to come....
Well, me and Hudsondad ventured to the show on SUnday morning, and had a good time. I was able to purchase a few small items that further helped my cause, and was pretty happy.
Here's what I got...
5 bottles of Dr, Doug Wildrick's clutch fluid. and a gasket... I don't know why, but this stuff seems to work by far, the best in my hudson. This is the white bottle stuff, not the clear bottle. I cannot figure out why, but mine performs poorly with the stuff in the clear bottles. wierd. I was also offered a ton of free advice on my sooner or later clutch and tranny job in my 50. Thanks all for the great advice. I hope I don't need to come on here and say "yup you guys were right" but that a different story entirely....
I purchased a couple of gas pedals, of which I got two left, one is a OD pedal for my car (remember my gas pedal woes???? get a spare when you can!) One went to hudsondad, since it was a short wheelbase pedal, perfect for his wasp. and the final one I got, I have a growing suspicions for a pre stepdown, but have to do some research. all were reasonable, and If I find the one is in fact not correct for what I got, I will offer it to the board before I eBay it.
I got two right hand sill plates for an early stepdown, front and rear, they were cheap, and decent enough, nothing special, but good enough to possibly use again.
And finally, I got a 50 super/commodore lower grille bar (the ones between the parking lights... ) NOS in the wrapper for the right side. I have been looking for one remaining bar for this car for some time. I have a hard time remembering which side I need, so guess which side it was that I needed?
the left........ GRRRR..............
so that makes 4 right ones, which are all pretty nice, and one left, that needs plated.
for what I got invested, i would be better off getting a set plated and being done with it.
Anyone got a NOS left they want to trade for a nice right?
Oh well, good show, good stuff.
We did experience a blowout on the way home, but it was probably good we didn't have the hudson on the trip. That was an adventure in itself....

Hudson Kid I also got some advice on the clutch replacement as well from the guys at the HET stand at Hershey. The one piece that I got was to use 2 gaskets not just one to seal the clutch. Anyone else care to comment on this addition?
Also note there have been several pieces of '50 Hudson trim and other pieces on sale on ebay for the last couple of weeks.0 -
i'll have to check out the eBay stuff... Thanks!
As far as the pedal... it seems to be a pre stepdown pedal....
might be NOS shelf worn, rear rubber grommet is in great shape.
anyone need one?
I'll post pics later, if anyone is interested.0
