Crazy Guy Needs A Rust Free Jet Two Door

Ok, I'm the guy who bought that rusted out Jet Convertible. I read all your previous posts, so I know how crazy you all think I am. (I am not going to dispute that)
The research is done. I am going to have to have a rust free two door Jet to make this a reality. I have to have some metal to work with. I cannot start until i find a rust free, floors still attached Jet.
The untimate Jet donor would be one that the kids jumped on the roof, or earlier in life it ran into a telephone pole. Maybe by this time the mice have completly eaten the interior. My old Hudson pride keeps me from starting with a nice restored car. But, I'll let you help make the decision. Maybe you have the ultimate donor car.
I have researched the possibility of using a 4 door, but that just is not as practical.
So do you know where one is? Does your neighbor or friend have one? Location is not a concern to me. I once made it from Detroit to where it is now. It can come back this way again. Would you like to play a part in getting a prototype back on the road?

I think it's great that you're taking on this project. I know of a solid Jet (dry rotted interior) for sale here in Las Vegas, but it's a 4 door. I agree with you that the 4 door probably wouldn't be a good donor for your convertible. Good luck with your project, I look forward to seeing it completed someday.0 -

1954 Hudson 2 door jet in need of total restoration/fairly complete/has rust in the lower sections and needs some floor boards replaced. asking $1000.00 but will listen to all offers.
this car is part of the estate of J.C. Mahon, long time Hudson guy.

Jim Harmon of Banks Oregon had a 2 door Jet awhile back. I think it was for sale, and maybe it even had a continental kit on it. One of the Jets he had did anyway.

The parts car that was available had been was filled with plastic and painted several years ago. So the picture made it look much better than it really was. It is definately not the car to start with for this project0

Ahhh...too bad.
I'll keep my eyes and ears open...I'd love to see this car back together! I'm glad you were able to "look past the rust" and are willing to invest your valueable time and money to put her back on the road. If I were closer I'd offer to come and help! Really!

Looks like there was a fairly solid looking 2 door jet on a trailer, in one of the pictures, in the latest WTN, for sale (?) at Kearney Nationals...
anyone got any details on this for "Mr. Spring"?
I just saw it a bit ago, while paging thru the WTN. Might be a decent donor car.
Personally, I feel we all should be trying to assist here, to see this jet resurrected. glad it went to someone willing to put the time (and $$$) into the project.0 -

Have you checked with Al down in Arizona? He may have a clean body down there. Only problem he's quite a ways from where you are at.
I bought some very nice totally rust free coupe quarter panels from him about 4 years ago and got lucky on the shipping. One of the members out of Chicago spends the summer there and brought them back for a small fee. Doubt if you could find someone to do that with a complete car but you never know. It might not be too bad to get a complete or just a rolling body shipped back to this part of the country.

I checked with Al, he has a great 4 door. But no two door. I am a owner in a trucking company thats hauls the 48 states, so I can get it, if I can find it. I appreciate everyones help and ideas so far. Ed0

There are so few women Hudson owner/drivers that I would hate to have someone's feelings hurt. BTW - Sue is the Pres. of the HET Historical Society and it was her Hudson Jetliner that was recently featured in Hemmings Classic magazine.0 -
It's your editor's choice to use initials on photo credits, mainly because we have several prolific photographers (including myself) and seeing the full names repeated over and over becomes a little much. +it's common practice. Can result in gender being a guess though...LOL0

Was out at Jim Harmon's a few weeks ago and he does indeed have a two door jet sitting out there. His number is in the roster under Oregon. Pretty sure it's what you need.0
