Cheap Hornet
Although there are 8 hours to go this '54 Hornet seems to be going cheap. I am missing something, maybe snipers will come out at the last minute?

I know I will be bidding. My father-in-law is 50 miles from Lexington and could pick it up for me.0

You never know - maybe there will be a frenzy of bidding in the last minutes of the auction...
Frenzy is right- ended up at $7,101, and had been in the 3,000 range a few minutes before the end. . . Probably wound up about where it should, judging from the comments on my other post.0 -

Your proof? Anybody can go in an 'glean' email addresses from a completed auction, and then send fake 'second chance' offers... (which is why 'my' auctions are almost always 'privacy' protected)
This looks legitimate to me - only the second-chance offers are a scam, and anyone that 'bites' on them either doesn't have their 'wits' about them, or is foolish enough to think that they have a chance of getting something for nothing...
Yep, I reported it to eBay via the "spoof" address. and got the usual "canned" response. This isn't my "first Rodeo". If you bid very often, you will get these scammers. The one clue in all of it was asking me to reply to an email address other than the eBay email and wanting me to state my ebay screen name. They should KNOW that if they are a seller. It makes me wonder how many people get screwed and are too ashamed to admit it ? I have a senior citzen friend that admitted to me that he had bought some property a couple years ago. In Oregon via the internet and received a Quit Claim Deed. later found out the land was Federal land and not for sale. $25,000.00 down the drain. A simple call to a Title Co. in Oregon or a call to the property appraisers office in the area would have uncovered the scam rather quickly. Yes the greed factor for the buyer is there, but still not an excuse to steal. Makes me sick and angry that people will do this stuff to each other.0 -

This car is no scam! I had it inspected and evaluated when it was up for $9000. It was very good, but not $9000 good. Probably sold at a fair price. Oh, I have gotten fake second chance offers on every car I have ever bid on.0
