I frequently happen upon "definately". My favorite ebay word, however, is "escutcheons". You know, the decorative (and functional) devices postioned under interior door handles and window risers. In all honesty, I've seen it spelled so many ways that I don't even know if I'm spelling it correctly anymore. I think that my favorite example is "ethusians", but there's lots more. By the way, didn't the Ethusians come to the aid of Sparta when the Greeks invaded?0

"Definately" is DEFINITELY wrong.
There is no such thing as "prolly" (probably), either.
You "sell" a car, not "sale" a car. You can have a car "for sale", not "for sell".0 -

No, I think that was the Altrusians, from whence came the Altrusa Club, composed of little old ladies who have a common animosity toward Spartans everywhere, even after all these years.0 -
That is usuolly when things get bedder and bedder for the King's inglish.

I started to read this, and realised I had read something similar.
I decided to cleave the arrangement to cleave together.
I had to lead my child to get a lead pencil.
I was fraught about sitting in a draught.
I leaned on the bough to cough.

But, then again, is "English logic" the same as "logical English"?
Perhaps snot.0 -
I have no idea what you guys are talking about ... most of my time in school was spent thinking about girls, cars, and rock & roll.
Thank God for Spell Chek.0 -

Upon reflection I beleive that you're correct. Perhaps I was thinking of St Paul's epistle to the Ethusians.0 -

Ads stating that a car is "red in color" are amusing, too. Hey, folks, it's just "red." LOL
Also, confusing adverbs and adjectives..."It's a real nice day." No, it's a really nice day. My dad always said it was the difference between "looking at her stern, and looking at her sternly."0 -

I'm all 4 using proper english but it is a living language and changez. Practically every engrish word has 4 meaningz and some mean diffrent thingz depending upon da industry in which they word is used. Then you consider that in the web there's all kindz of acronyms and such because folks are too lazy when typing. Sum of deez are clever but a stupid clever, kind of like tying a neck tie around your knee. Nobody died and made me da God of Grammar so I gave up tryin to correct people a long time ago. You can argue that "Well this is the way a word is commonly used now so it's ok" Or you can say "sure, but a lot of people are friggin stupid! Shall we adopt their standards?!" I dunno. Then you consider the differences between British and American english and itz amazin we can communicate at all. OH WELL. I'm just going to desert this post and get some desert.0
